Karen Hicks

Karen Hicks is a singer/songwriter born and raised in Southern California. She is a wife and mother of five children. She and her husband, Ken raised their family in the Riverside area and now currently reside in the Santa Barbara area.

Karen was introduced to the piano at the age of three when she would sneak over to the neighbor’s house and ask to come inside and play. Her parents bought her first piano at the age of seven and from then on, Karen was obsessed with the piano and studied classical music for ten years hoping to become a concert pianist. After graduating from high school, she decided to get her degree in Cosmetology and pursued a career in the beauty and modeling industry for the next fifteen years, putting music aside.

In 1996, Karen had a life changing experience and fell in love with Jesus. She and her husband helped start a home missions church, called The Sanctuary in Perris, California. Here, Karen involved herself in music ministry along with her children over the course of twenty years. Karen began writing music ten years ago.

Karen is amazed that after all of these years of classical music training and then setting that training aside, that God would call her into the music ministry when she was in her 30’s and continue to expound upon her gifts. “God had been preparing me all of my life for such a time as this.” 

Her passion is serving God and writing music that will touch and change lives.
